Agreement Overview
This Enrollment Agreement is a legally binding contract between American K12 School and the Parent or Legal Guardian of the enrolling student. By completing the enrollment process and paying the required fees you agree to be bound by the policies and procedures outlined in this document and the official Student Handbook.
The term of this agreement covers the academic year or specific course duration for which the student is enrolled. Continued enrollment is subject to adherence to all academic and conduct standards.
Accreditation and Recognition
American K12 School is fully accredited by Cognia and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. This accreditation ensures that our credits and diplomas are recognized by educational institutions and employers across the United States and internationally.
- Credits are transferable to other accredited public and private schools.
- Our College Preparatory High School Diploma is accepted by colleges and universities.
- The curriculum meets or exceeds the standards set by state educational departments.
- NCAA approved courses are available for student athletes seeking collegiate eligibility.
Academic Standards
To maintain enrollment in good standing students must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress. Our online school provides the flexibility of asynchronous learning but requires disciplined time management.
- Students must complete all required course modules within the designated timeframe.
- Regular participation in the virtual learning platform is mandatory for attendance tracking.
- A minimum grade point average must be maintained to remain eligible for graduation.
- Parental supervision is encouraged for students under eighteen years of age.
Code of Academic Integrity
Academic honesty is a core value of American K12 School. Any violation of academic integrity is taken very seriously and may result in disciplinary action or dismissal from the program.
- Plagiarism of any kind is strictly prohibited including the use of artificial intelligence to generate schoolwork.
- Students must perform all assessments and examinations without unauthorized assistance.
- The sharing of login credentials or proprietary course materials is a violation of this agreement.
- Forging or altering school records is grounds for immediate termination of enrollment.
Financial Obligations
Enrollment is conditional upon the timely payment of all tuition and administrative fees. Failure to meet financial obligations may result in the suspension of access to the learning platform and the withholding of transcripts.
- All registration fees are nonrefundable and must be paid at the time of enrollment.
- Tuition payment plans must be adhered to as specified in the billing agreement.
- Refunds for tuition are only available within the first fourteen days of enrollment provided no course credits have been earned.
- After the fourteen day grace period all tuition payments are final and nonrefundable.
Student Privacy and Records
American K12 School is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and families in accordance with federal regulations including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Children Online Privacy Protection Act.
- Education records are kept secure and only shared with authorized personnel.
- Personal data is never sold to third party marketers or external organizations.
- Parents have the right to inspect and review their child educational records.
- We utilize industry standard encryption to protect all data transmitted through our platform.
State Compliance and Governing Law
As a nationally accredited online school American K12 School operates in compliance with the educational standards recognized across all fifty United States. This agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the school is incorporated.
Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The prevailing party in any legal action shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.
System Requirements
Students must have access to a reliable computer and high speed internet connection to participate in the program. Technical difficulties on the part of the student do not excuse the failure to meet academic deadlines.
- A modern web browser with updated security patches is required.
- Access to a microphone and webcam may be necessary for specific course activities.
- The school is not responsible for hardware failure or internet service outages at the student location.
